First dedicated eSports betting portal

On 25 August 2015, Betway became the first "major" or "mainstream" bookmaker to launch a dedicated global eSports betting portal. Some of the first available bets included Hearthstone to be part of the Winter Olympics 2030 at 99/1, as well as outright winner betting on the 2015 League of Legends World Championship. The 2013 champions SK Telecom T1 (South Korea) were early favourites to win at 17/20, with Bangkok Titans (Thailand) the tournament outsiders at 200/1.

Upon the company's announcement of the launch, a spokesperson said: "We’ve already taken high four figure bets on everything from CS:GO and Dota 2 to League of Legends and FIFA."
