Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) took 44 matches to claim his first 100 One-Day International (ODI) wickets. The leg spinner’s 100th ODI victim came in a match against the West Indies in Harare, Zimbabwe, on 25 March 2018.
Four five-wicket hauls helped Rashid towards the record, including 7 for 18 against the West Indies on 9 June 2017 and 6 for 43 against Ireland on 17 March 2017. Australia’s Mitchell Starc held the previous record, with 100 wickets in 52 matches.
Rashid (b. 20 September 1998) was 19 years 186 days old when he took his 100th ODI wicket on 25 March 2018, making him the youngest player to achieve the feat.
