The farthest distance swimming in 48 hours in a 50 metre pool (male) is 151 km (93.82 mi) and was achieved by Spyros Chrysikopoulos (Greece), in Athens, Greece, on 20 July 2025.

In 2021, Spyros also set the record for the farthest distance swimming in one week in a 50 metre pool (male), which is 358.2 km (222.6 mi).

He felt it was time to challenge himself for another Guinness World Records title.

He hopes to demonstrate that our limits go much further than what we believe.
