Karolina wanted to achieve a record due to her ambitious nature. She has been swimming for 17 years so she was confident she had the skills to achieve this record.

With each rest break, her team would prepare her food and drinks and pass it to her while she rested in the water. During the attempt, she decided to not take any sleep breaks.
