Prayas Ray Barman (India, b. 25 October 2002) was 16 years 157 days old when he made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, on 31 March 2019.

Previously, Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman (b. 28 March 2001) was the youngest IPL player when he turned out for Kings XI Punjab against Delhi Capitals on 8 April 2018 aged 17 years 11 days old.

Ray Barman’s IPL debut ended in defeat after Sunrisers openers Jonny Bairstow and David Warner had put on 185 runs – the highest first-wicket partnership in IPL history – in the hosts’ 231 for 2. RCB were dismissed for 113, with Ray Barman scoring 19 runs to add to the 56 runs he conceded from four overs.
