Fastest $100 million box office film gross

Three films have surpassed the $100-million milestone at the box office within 24 hours of their domestic release, according to The Numbers. These are: Avengers: Infinity War (USA, 2018) on 27 April 2018; Star Wars Ep VIII: The Last Jedi (USA, 2017) on 15 December 2017; and Star Wars Ep VII: The Force Awakens (USA, 2018) on 18 December 2015.

In terms of total gross over the debut 24 hours, the three films stand as follows:

Star Wars Ep VII: The Force Awakens: $119,119,282 (£79.7 million; €109.7 million)

Avengers: Infinity War: $106,334,939 (£76.2 million; €87.5 million)

Star Wars Ep VIII: The Last Jedi: $104,684,491 (£77.9 million; €88.6 million)
