The oldest tenor opera singer (male) is Yasuo Harada (Japan, b 31 May 1931) who was 94 years and 98 days old when he performed as Lieutenant Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, in Higashi Hiroshima, Hiroshima, Japan, as verified on 7 September 2025.

Harada has been active as a professional opera singer for nearly 70 years since 1954, performing in concerts, recitals, and releasing CDs and DVDs. He has also appeared in more than 20 concerts over the past five years.
