The largest tree hug consists of 4,620 people, achieved by Asianet News Network Pvt. Ltd. (India) at JNTBGRI, in Thiruvananthapuram, India, on 21 March 2017.
The attempt was held on the United Nations' 'International Day of Forests' and aimed to promote the importance of trees and forests. The name of the event was 'My Tree, My Life'.
