The most retweeted message on Twitter has been retweeted 5,455,411 times, and was achieved by Yusaku Maezawa (Japan) after offering a cash prize to 100 winners, as verified on 8 January 2019.

Yusaku Maezawa wrote this tweet after his online fashion retailer, Zozotown, achieved astonishing sales. In order to celebrate and as a gesture of appreciation, he would give away one million yen in cash to 100 people to make a total of 100 million yen.
